Lunch Ride

May 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

I rarely take anytime for lunch other than the 10-15 minutes it takes me to walk to the Bagel Shop and back for my ritualistic Spicy Tuna Melt (regular tuna melt with jalapenos and Tabasco). I had to make an exception today, before burnout completely takes over. Decided to go for a ride.

I work across the street from AT&T Park and access to the highways is quick and painless. I decided to hop on the 280, head south and make a run down Highway 1 to Half Moon Bay. I am trying to enjoy the Devil’s Slide section as much as possible before the bridge and tunnel solution is completed. Route details are simple, 280 to the 1, turn left on 92 and left on 280, “return” to work. A little over an hour, which includes a stop at Skyline Blvd and 92 for a short break. There is enough twisties to make it fun and highway to make it back to work on time. Great fun.

It was a bit overcast and windy, but there were some bikes out on the road. Good to see some fellow riders out there, presumably doing the same thing I was. Always great to see the ocean from the bike’s cockpit.

Now I am back to work and planning my escape. I have been working too much and over stressed. Need to make some changes in life, but first, I needed to clear the head. At least for the lunch hour.

See you out there next Friday for lunch….

Yessss! Workday rides are needed to keep the sanity. I need to remember that the Santa Monica Mountains are just 20 minutes away. It will keep me from hurting an account person.
